The 'Before' Pictures Of Our New House
Information technology'due south been a couple weeks since we moved into our new house and, at present that we'resomewhatsettled in, I think it'south about time I show yous around!
Today's tour is your run a risk to take a look around our new house and (hopefully) get a sense of why we fell in love with information technology. This is going to exist a photo-heavy postal service with photos from the MLS listing along with some photos I took before we moved in. I'll share an updated tour once we get some more things unpacked, but for at present, I actually want to requite yous a sense of the infinite without all of our property in it.
I'll share some of my thoughts on each room every bit nosotros become, but we honestly don't have a lot of immediate decorating plans. I of the biggest lessons I learned in our first house was the importance of living in a infinite for a while before yous kickoff making a lot of big changes and decorating decisions. Plus, with a baby arriving any day at present, I've known all along I wouldn't have time to practice much decorating right abroad.
I'm and then excited to finally show yous around our new house!
Permit's offset exterior.
The exterior of this house had me from the minute nosotros pulled in the driveway. In fact, nosotros trounce our realtor there so I took a picture of the front and texted it to my mom since she shares my love for blues and grays. Nosotros toured a lot of other houses that day, but this one stood out to both of us. When I texted my mom that picture, I had no idea nosotros'd end up putting an offer on this very house the next morning!
I've always sworn I would never live in a suburb where all the houses expect alike, and I'm happy to report that our new neighborhood is full of charm. It's a newer development (our firm was built in 2005) and all the houses are cohesive, but no two are exactly alike.
We were looking for something without any large projects that needed to exist done, and we love that the exterior is in such skilful condition. And the 2-car garage is a huge plus after having a one-car discrete that nosotros never actually parked in!
The weather is cooling downward fast here in Iowa but I'm already dreaming of spending lots of time on our back deck side by side jump and summertime. The deck is in excellent status – all information technology needs is some furniture! And of course, I'chiliad excited to cord cute lights from that pergola!
There are little garden beds surrounding the deck that I'm looking forrad to using next year. There'south also a big patch of rhubarb and mint forth the firm to the right of the deck. I don't take much of a green thumb, but we'll run into what kind of gardener I can exist adjacent twelvemonth!
Let'south head within the front end door next…
This cute room greets you when you step inside. I love how much sunlight it gets! This bonus room could serve so many purposes, simply my initial program is to turn it into a welcoming sitting room/study/office. I suspect it will evolve a lot as we figure out how to best utilize the infinite. There's besides a half bath betwixt this room and the kitchen in the back.
To the left of the front door is the door to our garage and the stairway to the bedrooms.
The back half of the master floor is a groovy room with our kitchen, a dining surface area in the middle and the living room. I beloved all of the open space!
Nosotros'd like to paint or stain the cabinets and add together hardware at the very least. I'thousand looking frontwards to calculation some grapheme to this builder grade kitchen over time, but for now it is functional and has plenty of storage space.
Here's a wait at the other side of the room. I'g in dear with the fireplace and congenital-ins! Only imagine all the decorating that tin can exist done on those shelves ;).
Now let'due south head upstairs!
This laundry closet is at the acme of the stairs, and it certain beats hauling the laundry basket down to the nighttime corner of the unfinished basement in our final house.
To the left of the laundry room is a bedroom, which will presently be the nursery…
To the right of the laundry room is a total bath…
And to the right of that is some other chamber, which David has adopted every bit his part. Yous have to love the cute jungle theme going on in here! Not exactly a manly office, just David claimed it because he wanted a ceiling fan.
And the third bedroom upstairs is the master. There's more space than I know what to practise with!
I'm pretty excited to have a master bath in here, making this three bathrooms which is a huge improvement over the one we had in our last business firm.
And David's surprisingly excited about the his and hers closets considering he gets his very ain closet space without my encroaching on his half.
There'southward also a basement just waiting to exist refinished! We like that this gives us an opportunity to improve our house value and add more living space down the road. It's plumbed for a bath and has an egress window so we could add together a quaternary bedroom down here if we want.
And that concludes the bout of our house for today! Once we have this baby and become unpacked a bit more, I'll definitely share an updated bout with you.
All in all, we honey that this house is in great condition and motion-in ready. While information technology has not bad bones, information technology's actually a blank slate of builder grade construction that I can't wait to infuse with some colour and personality. At that place are then many projects swirling around in my mind these days! I can't wait to share them all with you as time goes on.
Have a cracking day!
